WHAT IS BIOCHAR?
Nature Hut Organic Biochar typically consists of 70-85% carbon (depending on customers' usage requirement and application type). The remaining percentage consists of nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen among other elements.
Due to it's many benefits, biochar is used in many agricultural and farming applications, and gaining momentum as an effective ingredient in concrete mixes for building materials.
Nature Hut's Organic Biochar is made from heating plantation biomass sources in our own in-house designed kilns, in the absence of oxygen.
Firing temperature in the kiln is specially controlled in order to achieve biochar with great microporosity and adsorptive capacity.
Depending on the usage requirements, we tailor our production process to achieve required specifications and sizes of biochar in order to suit different needs.
Nature Hut ensures that our raw material feedstock and production process is standardized in order to produce biochar with consistent quality.
Making biochar involves heating organic matter without oxygen in a process called pyrolysis which does not produce carbon dioxide the way an ordinary, oxygen-fueled fire does. Instead, the carbon gets locked up in the biochar.
When we bury this biochar in agricultural fields, it acts like a giant carbon sponge holding in moisture and nutrients that boost crop yields.
This buried biochar has also turned out to be remarkably stable, locking up carbon for hundreds or even thousands of years.
According to a prominent study, calculations suggest that transforming the crop waste from 120 million hectares of U.S. farmland alone could sequester ten percent of the nation's annual carbon emissions. Think about what the rest of the world could do together.
Biochar therefore is a carbon negative solution when it helps carbon to be stored in the soil – mitigating greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere while improving soil quality.
Play a part in the push against climate change today.
THE NATURE HUT DIFFERENCE
Nature Hut's REAL BIOCHAR is made with the same proprietary technology we use for our wood vinegar to heat up biomass with strict temperature and process controls and obtain consistent, high quality with every production.
Quality consistency is especially important in the use of construction materials as the biochar quality in the mix directly impacts the quality of building structures.
Nature Hut biochar contain zero additives and will always be 100% Natural and pure. We are able to control this as we manufacture in-house with our self-designed kilns. We also have strict quality control processes in place to prevent contamination.
At Nature Hut, we actively work with the local community as well as maintain our own plantations so that we can secure the large volume of biomass feedstock needed to supply our industrial customers with stable quantities.
Nature Hut's biomass comes from sustainably-sourced plantations.
